چکیده

In this study, the function of a non-ribosomal peptide synthetase-like (NRPS-like) encoding gene AOL_s00188g306 ( g306 ) was investigated to reveal association between NRPS and nematocidal activity in nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora . Sequence analysis indicated that encoded product is an adenylation domain synthetases extended short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase domain-containing proteins, displays wide substrate spectrum. The Δ mutants were more sensitive chemical stressors than wild type. Disruption impeded efficiency A. Metabolomics showed secondary metabolite biosynthesis lipid metabolism altered mutants. phenotypic changes can be attributed down-regulation various metabolites, including fatty acyls, prenol lipids, steroidsand steroid derivative, amino acid derivatives, identified present study. This study polypeptide-encoding nematicidal , providing reference for resolving predation mechanism fungus.

Surface polymers of the nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora.

The nematophagous fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora captures nematodes using adhesive polymers present on special hyphae (traps) which form a three-dimensional network. To understand further the adhesion mechanisms, A. oligospora surface polymers were visualized by transmission electron microscopy and characterized by chemical methods. Both traps and hyphae were surrounded by a fibrillar layer of ...

Screening of Soil and Sheep Faecal Samples for Predacious Fungi: Isolation and Characterization of the Nematode-Trapping Fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora

Over one-year period, 150 pasture soil samples and 138 sheep faecal samples, collected from different parts of Iran were screened for the presence of nematophagous fungi. The samples were cultured at 25ºC on chloramphenicol-2% water agar (CHF-WA) plates in the presence of Haemonchus contortus third stage larvae (L3) and checked over a two-month period for characteristic conidia, conidiophores a...

Genetic diversity and recombination in natural populations of the nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora from China

Nematophagous fungi can trap and capture nematodes and other small invertebrates. This unique ability has made them ideal organisms from which to develop biological control agents against plant- and animal-parasitic nematodes. However, effective application of biocontrol agents in the field requires a comprehensive understanding about the ecology and population genetics of the nematophagous fun...

Isoenzyme analysis of Arthrobotrys, a nematode-trapping fungus.

Extraction and isoenzyme analysis of four isolates of Arthrobotrys including A. musiformis, A. robusta and A. conoides were conducted. Among the 14 enzymes studied by starch gel electrophoresis, using morpholine-citrate as gel/electrode buffer, the following nine enzymes showed interpretable banding patterns: alpha-esterase, fumarase, hexokinase, isocitrate dehydrogenase, leucine aminopeptidase...

Genomic and Proteomic Analyses of the Fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora Provide Insights into Nematode-Trap Formation

Nematode-trapping fungi are "carnivorous" and attack their hosts using specialized trapping devices. The morphological development of these traps is the key indicator of their switch from saprophytic to predacious lifestyles. Here, the genome of the nematode-trapping fungus Arthrobotrys oligospora Fres. (ATCC24927) was reported. The genome contains 40.07 Mb assembled sequence with 11,479 predic...
